Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Katie Bradley and I am a registered psychologist in Calgary, Alberta. I provide virtual counselling across the province and I specialize in life transitions, self esteem, and all forms of interpersonal relationships, including couples.

About Katie

I have been providing therapy to individuals and couples for over eight years. I came to this profession after working in federal politics, post-secondary, and educational publishing (think textbooks). I have always wanted to help people, and when I watched high school students transition to university I could see the stress that parents and students alike experienced. I wanted to be able to help more than my role allowed, which eventually brought me back to school for counselling psychology.

Once I started providing counselling, I found that there were so many people that I enjoyed working with, I didn’t want to limit myself to just students. I have worked with many populations with many different concerns, and I find the theme of the work always comes back to the theme of change.

I view counselling as change management. Either you have too much change, or not enough. People come in because they are overwhelmed, or they feel stuck, whether it is as an individual, or in a relationship. Sometimes it feels like all of the change is external and out of your control, other times the issue might be completely internal, feelings of being unfulfilled or unhappy with where your life is right now.

When I am not working, I enjoy travelling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

I offer a variety of services to meet different needs and populations. Counselling is a very personal experience and I invite you to book a free consultation to decide if I am the best therapist to help you on your journey.

Approach to Counselling

I use an integrated approach to therapy, borrowing philosophies and interventions from many different schools of thought. This is an overview of a few of the different approaches that I use in session and how they might benefit you. I use an open and friendly approach to exploring your relevant background and the reason you are seeking counselling. I like to use humour to engage while also challenging you to test your limits and grow towards your goals. I am knowledgeable in many approaches to therapy, and have gained valuable experience and insight in my career, but only you are the expert in your life. For that, I am happy to learn from you! I am LGBTQ+ friendly for both individual and couples counselling.
